1984 Yamaha FJ1100 (FJ1100L). 9254 original miles. This was a groundbreaking sportbike when it hit the market, and has stood the test of time for performance and durability. Originally purchased in April 1984 from Hollywood Yamaha Kawasaki, this bike was one of the first in the country with super low serial number 000159. I am the 2nd owner of this motorcycle, acquiring it 2 years ago from the original owner, a lady lawyer. It had sat for several years, but I got it running in short order and drove it home from San Diego to Los Angeles, where I proceeded to restore it from top to bottom. It needed a lot of TLC after sitting in the garage covered for 7 years. I disassembled and serviced the bike completely, including the carburetors, valve adjustment, fork seals, new tires, new grips, new HH brake pads. Tires are Avon Azaros, which are the best original size 16" tires available for this bike. A friend donated a brand-new set of original mufflers (Thanks Pat!). I replaced every nut, bolt, seal, and parts to put this machine in top condition. Upgrades are few, but I believe enhance the overall package. Carbs include all new seals and a David Raforth stainless steel bolt and seal kit, K&N Dynojet carb needles, and an OEM type K&N air filter. Also included are a set of Renntec engine bars, which not only look great but provide great protection in case of a spill. Bodywork is in excellent condition. No dents in the tank. No cracks in the fairing. Original factory windscreen. No fading of the stickers. Bellypan is in perfect condition, a true rarity. A little chrome pitting on the gas cap, but very minor. The engine is so impressive. It starts with a little choke and a mere push of the button, and then settles into a smooth and quiet idle almost immediately. Honestly, I have never seen another smoother, quieter FJ, and I have see a lot of them. Overall, this is a fantastic deal at half the price of ANY new bike. It is the buyers responsibilty for pickup or shipping. I recommend using specialized motorcycle transport company like JC Motors. But I will deliver it to an air freight forwarder for crating for $100. I guarantee you will not find a finer example of an almost all original 1984 FJ1100L at any price. Satisfaction guaranteed.
